Anal Wart
Anal wart is a type of wart which can occur in the rectum. It is often known as condyloma acuminate. Anal warts are nowadays very common and annoying condition that affects the area around the anus. Sometimes they can also affect the skin and the genital area of your body. Initially they appear as a tiny blemish and later they can grow very large, even larger than the size of a pea. Some anal warts don’t cause any pain or uneasiness in the anus. So sometimes the patients may not be aware that they have anal warts.
Anal warts are also caused by the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) which is somewhat transmittable. HPV can be transmitted via one person to another, almost always by direct touch or contact.
Some risk factors for developing anal warts are:
- Heavy smoking
- using any oral contraceptives
- having multiple sexual partners
How do I know that I have anal warts?
Because Human Papilloma Virus is not a pervasive infection, that is, it exists only in human skin cells; there is no blood test or whatsoever to detect it. Medical specialists will normally identify an anal wart disease by visually inspecting the suspected area, often with a magnifying glass, to verify the existence of warts. Sometimes vinegar is also applied on the skin which causes the infected tissues to turn white.
I have anal warts, now what should I do?
Ask for treatment from your physician. Treatments are deliberate to take out the warts so as to lessen the possibility of spreading the disease to others, as well as to reduce any physical or mental discomfort connected with anal warts. Elimination of warts, however, is not necessarily a perfect cure. As long as the virus is present on your body, anal warts may reappear and may need further attention.
